Previous updates:
* User interface changes for ease of use..
* Remember previously called list, fix STUN logic problems with some NAT routers.
* Changed/added sound effects, improved the UI behavior a little, better jitter buffer for conferencing (3+ people in call)...
* Improved the audio playback jitter buffer to smooth playback...
* Changed some Mac audio system code to better stream audio smoothly...
* Changed the ring sound in the windows version...
* Smoothed out some audible skips that could happen when conferencing with someone with a bit too much network latency.
* Fixed a problem with call-by username STUN code.. in some cases where call-by name behind a NAT router wouldn't work should now.
* Fixed a problem with non-intel macs calling port 0 when calling by username
* Conference audio tweaks to smooth audio skips
* Can add permanent aliases (username->IP mappings) table..see .walkietalkie_config file
* was only ringing once per caller, now ring interval is 5 seconds
* Added some more NAT-traversal (STUN) code to work around more firewall/routers
* Fixed a problem with encryption between PC's and G4/G3 macs not working
* Made username search case-insensitive
* Fixed locator code keepalives (flaky username searching behavior)
* Fixed a stupid bug that would make the mac GUI not show up..
* Small bugs are being fixed almost weekly, so check back often.
* Make sure both parties are using the same version of the software, newer versions are frequently not backwards compatible
* The code is shared (>80%) between mac/windows, so new releases should contain versions for both at the same time.
Changes:
Version 2.7:
* Optional AES encryption
* username calling
* wt-locator serving
* for more info, see the manual
Version 2.5:
* completely new UI - much less hokey
* built in conferencing, just pull down a menu to add a caller
Version 2.1:
* Annoying sound when audio arrived while audio was already playing...smoother audio in many cases.
Version 2.0.0:
* Completely broke compatibility with previous versions... (but windows/mac versions are coming out at the same time...)
* This was done so that multiple gsm-contexts could be used at the same time, allowing "conferencing" (with the new wtserver). The server is optional.
* Added an input-amplitude graph to indicate the amplitude level of your mic.
Version 1.5.5:
*Added support for Port-Address-Translation (routers/firewalls), so only one end needs port 51981 open,
and they can just click 'answer' to complete the connection. The port the original call came in on will be used.
Also fixed a problem with sound looping on
older windows (98) systems.
Check back frequently for new versions...
